Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. In my mind, it’s a celebration of creativity—we get to come up with outrageous ideas and then play them out at costume parties or while walking around with our kids… or on a 10K race-course.wicked-scrabble-1

Tomorrow some friends and I will be donning our costumes to run our eighth annual Wicked 10K here in Virginia Beach. Each year we come up with some sort of group costume. The brainstorming sessions usually begin over lunch together, or as it did this year, via text and email. Someone throws out an idea that leads to spin-off thoughts and some crazy suggestions. As we all chime in, the ideas get more and more insane, then gradually get culled to something that’s doable.

Just for fun, here are our other past Wicked race costumes:

I hope you have something creative and fun planned for the weekend. If you aren’t into costumes, do you decorate out front for Trick or Treaters? I challenge you to do at least one out-of-the-ordinary thing this weekend/Monday, even if it’s just wearing a headband with cat ears while you are driving to work. Just have a little fun; it’s a day that you can get away with it!

Can you guess what we'll be this year?
